SEONI: A tigress and her two cubs were found dead in the core area of Pench Tiger Reserve.
"The carcass of a 12-year-old tigress was found yesterday. Two of her cubs, 8-months old, were found dead today," said Field Director of the Reserve, Subhranjan Sen. He also said that a Post Mortem suggested that they had died of poisoning, but to confirm, viscera samples would be sent to a laboratory.
"The tigress had four cubs. Two are dead. We have spotted another one (alive) but the fourth one is still to be traced," Sen said."We have launched a probe to find the culprits who (possibly) poisoned them," adding that patrolling in the area had been increased.
